Are you a candidate?

The doctor will perform a full dilated eye exam to assess the health of the eye, and make sure you are a good candidate for the laser procedure.

Probable candidates:

• The doctor can readily see the floaters
• The floaters are not especially close to the lens or retina
• There is a vitreous detachment
• The patient is bothered by the floaters
• The floaters are present for at least two months with no real improvement

Non candidates:

• Floaters that are far out of the central visual axis making them difficult for the doctor to visualize and treat
• Floaters from asteroid hyalosis or vitreous hemorrhage
• Floaters that are too close to the retina
