Why Dr. Lavrich?

 

Judith B. Lavrich has been practicing pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, cataract surgery, and cosmetic plastic surgey of the eye for over 30 years.  Dr. Lavrich graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the University of Toledo in Ohio and received her M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Dr. Lavrich performed her internship at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center. She accomplished her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology, and was trained comprehensively in general ophthalmology and in cataract surgery.  During her residency, she was also trained extensively in oculoplastic surgery by one of the leading oculoplastic surgeons in the world. Dr. Lavrich completed her fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

She became Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1991. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Lavrich was recognized as “Top Doctor” of Pennsylvania 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 by the distinguished Castle Connelly as well as Top Doctor in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, 2022 Top Docs edition. She was most recently recognized as Top Doctor of New Jersey in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 as a Best of Bucks Finalist for Top Ophthalmologist in 2020.

As a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Lavrich is on active staff at Wills Eye Hospital Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology. She is an Associate Surgeon at Wills Eye Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

Locally she is an Attending Surgeon at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, and at Capital Health System in Trenton, NJ. She is the director of Facial Aesthetics and Oculoplastic Surgery at Total Eye Care Centers.

Over the past 27 years, Dr. Lavrich has been performing various cosmetic procedures, including ptosis repair, upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, brow lifts, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, BOTOX® injections, and dermal fillers. She was one of the first doctors in Bucks County, PA with clinical training and expertise in the use of BOTOX® for the treatment of eye muscle spasms, and facial wrinkles.

Dr. Lavrich is an expert in the treatment of cataracts and performs state-of-the art cataract surgery using advanced technology multifocal lenses and FEMTO laser.

Doctor Awards

As the director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Total Eye Care Centers, she treats children and adults with double vision, turning of the eyes, tearing disorders, and dry eyes. In private practice since 1991, she has extensive experience in the surgical correction of misaligned eyes in adults and children and has been sought out for her proficiency in this area.

Dr. Lavrich has published widely in the ophthalmology literature including publications in the Journal of Ophthalmic Surgery, Binocular Vision, Ophthalmic Clinics of North America, Current Eye Research, Retina, Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Contemporary Pediatrics, and Pediatric Clinics of North America.

She was the author of several chapters and the co-editor of the book Strabismus Surgery published by W. B. Saunders. She has been highly involved in educating the current and future generations of doctors and nurses. She has taught many residents of ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital and Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as students of optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
